Continuamos la semana con una nueva ilustración. Como podéis observar, cambiamos de temática. Hoy os muestro una ilustración dedicada a la Sociedad Deportiva Eibar, de la localidad de Eibar (Guipúzcoa). En la temporada 2013 - 2014 ascendió por primera vez a Primera División, Liga BBVA.

Fundada hace 75 años, en 1940, la SD Eibar es un conjunto con una dilatada trayectoria en Segunda División (Liga Adelante), y por la que han pasado jugadores como Xabi Alonso (Bayern de Munich), David Silva (Manchester City), Gaizka Toquero (Athletic Club de Bilbao), o los ex-porteros Manuel Almunia (Arsenal Football Club) y el dos veces Zamora de Segunda División, José Ignacio Garmendia.

Let's go on with a new illustration. As you can observe, we have changed the theme.
Today I show you an illustration about football, about Sociedad Deportiva Eibar, from Eibar, in Gipuzkoa (in the Basque Country). In the 2013 - 2014 season, the team promoted for the first time in its history to Liga BBVA.

Founded in 1940, 75 years ago, SD Eibar is a team that as played for a long period of time in Liga Adelante since the 1980's. In the club's memory, people remember players as Xabi Alonso (Bayern München), David Silva (Manchester City), Gaizka Toquero (Athletic Club Bilbao) or Manuel Almunia (retired goalkeeper of Arsenal Football Club) and Jose Ignacio Garmendia (two times Ricado Zamora Awarded in Segunda Division - now Liga Adelante).

En esta ocasión, os muestro un post diferente. Como podéis observar, es una propuesta para el concurso de carteles de las Fiestas De La Virgen Blanca, en Vitoria-Gasteiz. Es una representación de la Bajada de Celedón, incluyendo historias que suceden a lo largo de la festividad, y personajes visibles a lo largo de esos días: músicos, gigantes (Reyes de la baraja de Naipes Fournier), algún que otro aficionado del Baskonia y Deportivo Alavés. Hasta un reportero o un grupo de personas haciéndose un selfie aparecen en escena.

El trabajo se realizó a rotulador, sobre papel de 51 x 73 cms.

Let's comeback with a new and different post. This one, is a proposal for the La Virgen Blanca Festivities Poster Challenge, in Vitoria-Gasteiz. The work represents people during the opening of the festivities, the 4th of August, and many stories that can happen these days. There are many characters in the work, as musics, giants (the kings of Naipes Fournier cards), supporters of Baskonia and Deportivo Alavés too. You can also find a reporter with her camera-cam of people making a selfie.

The poster was made with colour marker pens over 51 x 73 cm paper.

Paisaje desde el tren - Landscape from the train

Realizado la semana pasada, este apunte rápido fue hecho en el tren, en algún lugar entre Tarragona y Barcelona. Se trata de un ejercicio donde se pone a prueba la velocidad y la memoria visual, para poder realizar esta pequeña composición, casi abstracta, plasmada sobre un ticket de compra, y ejecutada con rotuladores de colores.

Done last week, this sketch was done in the train, somewhere between Tarragona and Barcelona. It is just an exercise, where the speed and the visual memory take a special importance, to make this small composition, almost abstract, drawn in a ticket, and executed with colour marker pens.

Plano Urbano Barcelona 2100 - Premio Il·lustrafuturs / Awarded at Il·lustrafuturs

Continuamos la semana con la ilustración que me presenté al Premio Il·lustrafuturs, y fui premiado como una de las tres obras ganadoras. La obra representa el plano de la ciudad de Barcelona en el año 2100. Como puede verse, la ciudad tendría espacios verdes más grandes, y comenzarían a edificarse edificios de gran altura. La ilustración está realizada a tinta y acuarela.

Let's continue the week with the illustration I made for Il·lustrafuturs Award, and made me get one of the three winner prices. The illustration shows the Barcelona map in the year 2100. As you can appreciate, the city would get more green spaces, and would grow in height. It is a watercolour and ink made illustration.

You can watch it in CosmoCaixa Barcelona (carrer Isaac Newton,c26), until January 2016 in the exhibition Experimento 2100: ¿Qué nos espera en la Tierra del futuro?

B-Hotel, Barcelona

B-Hotel está ubicado en Gran Via junto a Arenas de Barcelona. Dispone de 84 habitaciones, y pertenece al grupo Núñez i Navarro Hotels. Su fachada resulta atractiva al peatón, debido a su configuración de persianas, y la "B" que hace resaltar al edificio.

B-Hotel is based in Gran Via, next to Arenas de Barcelona (Commercial Centre). It has 84 bedrooms, and belongs to Núñez i Navarro Hotels group. Its façade results nice to the pedestrian, the configuration of the blinds and the big "B" give personality to the building.

Viaje en el tren - Parte II / Train travel - Part II

Finalizamos la semana con un post dedicado a los viajes en tren. En este caso, se trata del viaje realizado entre las ciudades de Vitoria-Gasteiz y Barcelona.

Let's conclude the week with a new post dedicated to the train travel. In this case, is the trip between the town of Vitoria-Gasteiz and the city of Bacelona.

Viaje en el tren - Parte I / Train travel - Part I

La semana pasada tomé un tren para viajar a casa, y qué mejor manera de pasar cuatro horas y media de viaje que dibujar aquello que observas desde la ventana del vagón. Debido a la dificultad de las circunstancias, la situación te hace cambiar la manera de dibujar, ajustando cada trazo para poder proyectar aquello que ves durante apenas unos segundos. Precisamente ese breve espacio de tiempo es lo que hace especial dibujar aquello que encuentras en el camino, y no buscar una panorámica enmarcada en la ventana de un tren, si no pequeños fragmentos de un paisaje tan bello y cambiante.

Last week I took a train to go home for Easter, and there is no better way to do it for me than drawing the places the train lets you do. It is difficult to project the things you find, so the way you have to draw it is as easier and fast as you can. Precisely is that short period of time what makes special draw what you find in front of you, and not look for a panoramic framed in a train window, just small pieces of a beautiful and changing landscape.

Plano de Noreña (Asturias)

Noreña es una parroquia, villa y concejo de Asturias, situado a quince kilómetros al este de Oviedo y a dos kilómetros al oeste de Pola de Siero.

La gastronomía, al igual que en el resto de Asturias es sagrada, y en Noreña podréis degustar productos como el adobo, callos, mollejas o sabadiego (un chorizo elaborado en el concejo de Noreña).

Noreña is a population from Asturias, placed 15km to the east of Oviedo and 2km far to the west of Pola de Siero.

The gastronomy, as the rest of Asturias, has a very good quality, and you could have very nice meals as the adobo, callos, mollejas or sabadiego (a chorizo that only is made in the region of Noreña).

Plano de Poblenou - Poblenou Map

Finalizaremos la semana con un plano illustrado del barrio de Poblenou. Un lugar tranquilo, pero con gran vida cultural, donde aún permanecen antiguas naves industriales, muchas remodeladas, y edificios de gran altura e innovación.

Let's end the week with an new illustrated map of Poblenou suburb. It is a quiet place, but with a great cultural life, where many old factories are still present, most of them are reformed, and very high-tech and high buildings.

Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys

Ubicado en Montjuic, el Estadio Olímpico Lluís Companys (anteriormente Estadio Olímpico de Montjuic, pero bautizado en marzo de 2001 en honor de quien fuera presidente de la Generalidad de Cataluña),fue construido en 1929 por el arquitecto Pere Domènech i Roura.

A lo largo del siglo XX, el estadio estuvo en desuso, hasta que se otorgaron los juegos Olímpicos de 1992. Los arquitectos Federico Correa, Alfons Milà, Joan Margarit i Consarnau, y Carles Buxadé, fueron los encargados de reformar el recinto, rebajando el nivel en 11 metros. Una vez remodelado, el aforo del estadio supero los 55.000 espectadores.

El Estadio Lluís Companys ha tenido diversos eventos desde entonces, el RCD Espanyol lo empleó para jugar sus partidos como local de 1997 a 2009, Campeonato de España de Atletismo (2000, 2009), Campeonato Europeo de Atletismo (2010), o diveros conciertos de artistas como Pink Floyd (1994), Bruce Springsteen (2003), The Rolling Stones (2003, 2007) o ACDC (2009, 29 de mayo de 2015).


Placed in Montjuïc (the Mountain of the Jews), Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys (known before as Estadi Olímpic de Montjuïc, but called in march 2001 in the honour of the man who was President of Generalitat de Catalunya), was built in 1929 by the architect Pere Domènech i Roura.

The stadium was not so used during the 20th century, until Barcelona was elected as the organizer of 1992 Summer Olympics (Games of XXV Olympiad). The architects Federico Correa, Alfons Milà, Joan Margarit i Consarnau and Carles Buxadé, were the team who reformed the building, lowering the stadium 11 metres. Once finished, the stadium had a capacity for 55.000 people.

Estadi Lluís Company has hosted many events, RCD Espanyol has played its local matches from 1997 to 2009,  Spanish Athletics Championships (2000, 2009) European Athletics Championships (2010), or many concerts like Pink Floyd's (1994), Bruce Springsteen (2003), The Rolling Stones (2003, 2007) or ACDC (2009, 29th of May of 2015).
